LTKY is launching sections starting from the beginning of 2024 with the strength of the Event Section and Wappu Marketing Team! Sections will enable further development of Finland’s Longest Wappu and fresher weeks. All LUT and LAB students can apply to join the sections!

Section activities are intended to be lower threshold activities than those in the LTKY board, but there’s still substantial work to be done! Participants in section activities will receive a certificate of work.

Applying for a section is done through this forms application, and interviews may be conducted for applicants if necessary. The application ends 6 December. 

Event Section

The purpose of the Event Section is to organize events under the leadership of Lytky’s event coordinator. The Event Section operates as its own organization with its own finances and section members have their own roles, just like in a guild. Section members have a significant influence on shaping the events. The term for the section is the entire year 2024.

Example roles in the Event Section:

  • Corporate Relations Coordinator
  • Communications Coordinator
  • Financial Coordinator
  • Logistics Coordinator
  • General Section Member

 

Regardless of the role, each section member contributes to organizing events in addition to their designated role. The final roles will be decided by LTKY’s Event Coordinator for 2024 in collaboration with the current event coordinator.

The Event Section will organize the following events in 2024: Interdisciplinary fresher sits, Ice Mayhem, Wappu opening ceremony, Fresher taskrace and their continuations, Wappu eve party, Baptism, Fresher Olympics, LTKY’s annual celebration week’s party, LTKY’s pre-christmas party, Sober Mayhem

Wappu Marketing Team

Finland’s Longest Wappu underwent a brand overhaul this year, and in 2024, it is planned to be further developed! To carry out this development, the Wappu Marketing Team is established, with the goal of managing Wappu’s communication and marketing. This includes updating the suomenpisinwappu Instagram account with Wappu events, updating the SkinnarilaBot, creating Wappu passes and posters, as well as capturing more photo and video material from the whole month. The Wappu Marketing Team does not organize events but ensures the smooth operation of Wappu’s communication. The term for the Marketing Team will last from the beginning of 2024 to mid-May, and the section will operate under the supervision of LTKY’s board’s culture coordinator.

Roles in the Wappu Team:

Graphic Coordinator

The Graphic Coordinator is responsible for designing a unified look for Wappu. This includes Wappu passes, posters, and marketing materials for various LTKY events. The Graphic Coordinator also creates the visual identity for events organized by the Event Section to align with Wappu’s overall brand.

Social Media Coordinator

The Social Media Coordinator is primarily responsible for producing real-time material from various Wappu events. This could include, for example, MyDay-style posts about major events and telling about upcoming Wappu week.

Photographer

The Photographer is tasked with producing high-quality photo and video material from Wappu events. No personal photography equipment is required.

Public Relations Coordinator

The Public Relations Coordinator’s task is to gather all information about Wappu events and share it to our community. The coordinator oversees the suomenpisinwappu.fi website and SkinnarilaBot.
