Interested in gaining hands-on experience in corporate governance? Apply to become a student member of the Aalef Oy board!
Are you passionate about organizing fun events? Do you thrive in social media buzz? Here’s your chance to make a difference for a good cause while earning money and valuable experience!
Aalef is a company owned by all Skinnarila students, aiming to provide its owners with the best service, good and healthy food, as well as fun activities and events. In short, an excellent customer ownership experience. Aalef Oy operates two restaurants, one kiosk, and catering services.
Student union of LUT university is now seeking two student members for the Aalef board for a one-year term starting from the Aalef general meeting in May. Student members are full-fledged board members whose task is to convey students’ messages to Aalef management and ensure that Aalef’s message reaches its owners.
The responsibilities of the two student members are divided so that one is primarily responsible for Aalef’s own events and Aalef’s participation in, for example, LTKY’s events where it makes sense. The other student member’s responsibility area is communication. The goal is for Aalef to actively communicate about itself and its activities through channels that reach its owners.
The position requires commitment but does not take up an unreasonable amount of time. The task can be managed, for example, alongside guild activities.
We offer you:
- A unique experience in a company with a million-euro turnover
- Insights into leadership and valuable recommendations for the future
- The opportunity to do valuable work for the entire student community
- Board meeting fees (€150/meeting)
- Learning about how a restaurant company operates
We expect from you:
- Enthusiasm and activity to make Aalef even better for its owners
- Independent approach to activities
- Fluent proficiency in both Finnish and English
We consider it an advantage if you have:
- Experience in event organization (event role)
- Experience in communication (communication role)
- Familiarity with Lappeenranta student culture
Submit your informal application and CV by May 19, at 23:59 to [email protected]. Possible interviews will be arranged after the application deadline.
