Housing

In Lahti, Lahden Talot offers a wide selection of apartments for students and houses for non-students. Get to know the offers and apply for an apartment: www.lahdentalot.fi

In Lappeenranta, student housing is provided by the Lappeenranta student housing foundation LOAS. Approximately 3 000 students live in LOAS apartments every year, and it is the most popular place to start looking for an apartment. LOAS offers shared apartments of two or three people, family apartments and studios. There are naturally the longest queues for the studios, so first-year students are almost always offered shared apartments.

Get to know the offers and apply for an apartment: www.loas.fi

You should also look for apartments elsewhere, for example on the private market. More information can be found at eLUT.

——————————

In addition, LTKY offers temporary housing in Lappeenranta from August to October for students of LUT, LAB and Sampo who are in the housing queue at LOAS, but have not yet received an apartment offer or whose lease agreement starts later than their studies. Your right to live in temporary housing ends when your rental agreement with LOAS starts, or would start if you reject the housing offer.

More information and answers to questions are provided by LTKY’s housing secretary, by email at [email protected]

Exercise

LTKY organizes several sport-related events every year, to which members of the student union have free access. LTKY also supports its members’ exercises and well-being by influencing municipal policy by driving e.g. the development of local sports facilities in Lahti and Lappeenranta, with the aim of developing sports opportunities near the campuses.

LTKY works in cooperation with LUT University and LAB University of Applied Sciences, offering sports services for students and staff on the campuses. The sports and welfare manager of the Student Union’s board and the advocacy specialist take care of communication with MOVEO and higher education institutions in sports matters.

If the campus sports facilities need to be improved, you can contact LTKY representatives via email or via the feedback form on our website.

In addition, LTKY has two golf shares in Viipuri Golf.

MOVEO

MOVEO is a joint sports and wellness service for LUT and LAB, which includes versatile exercise and wellness services and it organizes demo classes and exercise events. The goal of the activity is to promote and support students’ well-being and coping with studies, and to create a spirit of unity between different education programs and higher education institutions. MOVEO operates at the Lahti and Lappeenranta campuses.

MOVEO’s membership includes use of the gym, group exercise classes and the right to participate in ball shifts. You can read more about it on eLUT.

With the help of the site, you can find a group for hobbies and sports of your own level, and participate in the gatherings that fit your schedule.
