FRESHER!

The race of the five circles awaits: how would it feel to be your guild’s best fresher team and earn fame and glory? What if your team were to win the entire Fresher Olympics and have your name nailed forever onto the wall of the Student Union building? Let the checkpoint tour begin! 🎉

Gather yourself or let your Fresher Captain form a team of about 8 people for you and go around fund and playful checkpoints held by the guilds and organizations in Skinnarila. You can also get a map and a scorecard from your fresher captain. Checkpoints start at 18:00 and end at 20:00.

After the checkpoints, everyone gathers on the field of Skinnarila Garden, where you will return your team’s score sheets. After that, the best fresher teams from each guild will get to compete in the inter-guild finals.The evening culminates in the distribution of Fresher point slips, so don’t run away before that!

The event takes place outdoors where the terrain can vary. Skinnarila Garden is accessible.

Welcome to LTKY’s and Lappeenranta City’s welcome event for students on Thursday 27.8.!

The program includes a short Lappeenranta sightseeing tour and a welcome program at the Lappeenranta City Hall with plenty of tips on how to enjoy your time in Lappeenranta. The busses for the sightseeing leave from LUT at 1pm and 2pm. A direct bus (without sightseeing) leaves at 2:30pm. The program at the city hall starts at 3pm and lasts approx. until 4pm.

Where: The busses leave from LUT’s main doors, the event itself is at the city hall (Villimiehenkatu 1)
When: 27.08.2026, sightseeing at 1pm and 2pm, direct bus at 2:30pm, Welcome program 3pm-4pm

FRESHER! 📍

The time has come to compete in spontaneity, team spirit, and creativity! In the Fresher Orienteering, you and your team will tour checkpoints run by guilds, clubs, and student organizations in the lovely city center of Lappeenranta. Fun challenges await, where the checkpoint hosts will score your team’s performance and group spirit! This is also a great chance to get to know different ways to spend your free-time in Lappeenranta via organizations. ❤️

The best-performing team will have their name engraved on a plaque, which will be permanently attached to the honor board in the Student Union building.

The checkpoints are open from 17:00 to 21:00. You can collect the checkpoint locations and score sheets from 17:00 at Satamatori. You can find toilets, for example, in the Armada and Iso Kristiina shopping centers.

Temu ry is organizing the afterparty, which starts at 21 at Valta. The band Qlicks will play at 23 and 0:30 and DJ Igi will play as well. The ticket sale will start at 26.8. at 12 pm. The ticket costs either 6€ or 7€ with an overall patch. After the party busses will leave from Valta at 2 am and 3 am and will follow the number 5 route.

LTKY presents Basics of Teekkarism and Kylterism at Area 26 on Friday, 11 September, from 17:30 to 21:00. Get ready for an adventure into the heart of student life and discover the world of teekkari and kylteri culture at LUT!

During the evening, you’ll get straight into the essentials with a fun and interactive crash course on teekkarism and kylterism, complete with exciting activities and snacks.

Come experience the energy, enthusiasm, and sense of community that make our student community unique! The ticket includes snacks, one soft drink, and an overall patch. You’re also welcome to bring your own drinks.

Tickets can be purchased through Kide.app until 7 September 2025 at 23:55.
