Facilities

Basement

LTKY offers member associations the basement free of charge once per academic year for events that are open to everyone, healthy and non-alcoholic.

The facilities are not cleaned separately after a free booking, so facilities must be cleaned well after the use. The use of the free reservation must be agreed on separately at the time of booking. LTKY reserves the right to cancel a free booking before a paid booking by notifying the booker no later than one week before the booking.

Out of season (02.05. – 15.08.) the whole basement can be rented for 300 € weekend. The billing of the sauna is 10 € / hour and the sauna is heated for at least two hours at a time.

Associations can also rent storage space from basement facilities.

Durable dishes for the basement

Durable dishes can now be reserved for basement events via Aalef. Dishes can be reserved for example when you oder sitz food from Aalef, and the dishes will be delivered with the food. Dishes are returned to Aalef for washing. The price for this service is 15€, which is comparable to the costs of single-use dishes.

Lahti Band Room

Opening hours: 6-23

Duration of reservations: 1-3 hours. Please take one reservation per day.

Booking price: 4€/h for LUT/LAB members. 8€/h for others.

NOTE! The keys must be picked up at the Lahden Tiedepuisto information desk before 16., if your reservation is between 16-23. The keys must be returned after the shift to the Lahden Tiedepuisto information desk and after 16 the key will be returned to the mailbox.

The Band Room can be made on the LTKY website.

Campus sauna

Opening hours: 8-22

Booking duration: 4-6 hours, depending on the event

Booking price: 223.20 € (incl. VAT)

The campus sauna is the sauna of the LAB University of Applied Sciences and not affiliated with the student union. However, you can ask about reserving the sauna for your association or about the reservation conditions from the member services coordinator or at our office.

Goods for rent and loan

PePe

The rental of a van is only available to associations affiliated to LTKY. The rent is 10€/day and 0,40€/km including fuel.

Thermos and hot boxes

Before taking thermoses or hot boxes, please inform the office how many you will take with you and return the borrowed items the next day, WASHED OUTSIDE AND INSIDE.

All bookings start at 12 noon on the day of booking and end at 12 noon the following day, unless otherwise agreed. Reservations can be made at the office during office hours or by e-mail [email protected] .

Kyykkä Set: Organizations can borrow LTKY’s kyykkä set free of charge. Reservations are made through the reservation calendar

Picnic set: Moisture-proof blankets (2 pcs), a grill grate, a tarpaulin and a picnic table with four stools. Goods can be reserved individually or as a package. Goods must be returned clean and dry.

Rake, cleaning net and trash collectors: A rake, a cleaning net and trash collectors (2 pcs) intended for cleaning outdoor spaces or other uses. Goods can be booked individually or as a package. Goods must be returned clean and dry.

Thermos, jug and thermal box: Thermos (2 pcs), a plastic jug and a thermal box for events and meetings. Goods can be reserved individually or as a package. Goods must be returned washed outside and inside

First aid kit: First aid kit for events and occasions. Please mark the products you use so we know how many products are left in the package.

Ring light with tripod: A round lamp for producing digital content. The lamp has a bendable phone holder, dimming option, USB connection and a 1.5m tripod stand.

Pop up tent: A tent with LTKY logo 3m x 3m with separate wall fabrics. The tent must be returned clean and dry.

Conference camera with speaker and microphone: Compact conference camera with integrated speaker and microphone for meetings and remote events.

Portable speaker and microphone: JBL portable speaker for events and occasions. Return with a fully charged battery.

Tire pump: With the rechargeable tire pump, you can pump not only a football but also bicycle or car tires. You can book a pump by contacting the community specialist. Pickup from the office at a pre-arranged time and return loaded, the next business day by 12:00 at the latest.

Excluding the kyykkä set, all reservations start at 12 noon on the booking day and end the following day at 12 noon, unless otherwise agreed. Reservations are made by contacting the member services coordinator [email protected]


Other items to borrow: Other student organizations on the Lahti campus also have items that can be borrowed. You can get more information about them by contacting the member services coordinator or asking about it at our office.

City of Lahti’s loan goods: Various goods can be borrowed for events in the Lahti region from the event services of the city of Lahti. Read more on the city’s website in Finnish.

You can ask [email protected] for Lappeenranta or [email protected] for Lahti, or from the LTKY office on that campus.

Subsidies

LTKY admits grants to associations that belong to LTKY’s associations list. Grants are admitted for projects, purchases and general activities. In addition to the amount presented in the application, the amount of the grant is also affected by the grants admitted in previous years. The purpose of the grants is to support events and purchases that benefit as many student union members as possible.

Associations have the right to apply for project grants. Grant applications are submitted to the office or Member Services Coordinator, after which they are considered by the Member Services Committee, which consists of editors. The Member Services Committee next meets when necessary.

Association declaration 2026

LTKY reimburses the costs of founding associations when clubs become associations. The establishment costs can be applied for afterwards or the invoices can be submitted directly to the LTKY office together with the application for the establishment costs reimbursement of the association.

Application for reimbursement of expenses incurred in setting up an association

The operating grant is mainly intended for associations under LTKY (excluding special status associations) and it is paid once a year. To be eligible for operating grant the associations must have submitted the association notice for that year and the association has its own bank account.

Association declaration 2025

Once a calendar year, member associations can reserve a cellar MA-TO free of charge. The event used for the reservation must be non-alcoholic, open to all and in a healthy spirit.

Communication

LTKY’s communication specialist and the board’s communication manager are together responsible for LTKY’s external communication. The following communication services are available to associations:

LTKY’s newsletter is sent to members in Lappeenranta every other Wednesday and in Lahti on the first Wednesday of the month. The newsletter is delivered to subscribers’ email. In Lappeenranta, the newsletter reaches up to 4000 and in Lahti up to 1500 students.

Send your material to the newsletter no later than Friday before the newsletter is sent. Please make sure that the materials are ready for publication, and that the texts are written in both Finnish and English, even if the content itself only affects Finnish speakers.

Alive is LTKY’s blog platform, where students can write their own blog posts. Publications are agreed in advance with LTKY’s communications specialist.

LTKY can share association publications on its Facebook and Instagram accounts upon request. Publications should primarily be entertaining or informative, and their texts must be in both Finnish and English.
