Exchange and doctoral students
Every student completing a bachelor’s or master’s degree at LUT University is a member of the student union. Exchange students and doctoral students can also be members. Registering as a member and paying the membership fee most often takes place in connection with the semester registration.
Members of the student union are entitled to a Slice student card. It offers various benefits both locally and nationally. You can find more information about the benefits on Slice’s website.

The exchange student’s student union membership fee is 42 € per semester or 74 € per academic year (in academic year 2025-2026). Membership fees can be paid at the office or online shop.

Exchange studies at LUT
Approximately 200 exchange students study at LUT each year. LUT University’s international student community is strong, and the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) plays a significant role among exchange students in Lahti and Lappeenranta.

Going on exchange
