The Student Union of LUT University (LTKY) represents 7,800 undergraduate and postgraduate students studying at LUT University in Lappeenranta, Lahti, Turku, Kouvola, and Mikkeli. We strive to enable an exceptional student experience and support students in becoming forces of positive change in society. Our compact work community operates across two campuses in Lahti and Lappeenranta.
The Executive Director of LTKY ensures the smooth operation of the student union by overseeing financial planning and monitoring, managing stakeholder relations, and acting as a supervisor for both offices. Additionally, the Executive Director:
- Is responsible for the administration of the student union, decision preparation, and ensuring compliance with regulations and legislation.
- Leads two offices, supervising 5-9 employees.
- Oversees the strategic management of the student union.
This role particularly requires initiative and problem-solving skills, both in negotiations and within the office environment. A solution-oriented mindset, flexibility, and a student-centered approach are key to success in this position.
We require applicants for the Interim Executive Director position to have:
- Fluency in Finnish and English
- Ability to manage large-scale responsibilities
- Leadership experience
- Understanding of financial management
- Problem-solving skills and ability to handle pressure
- Relevant higher education studies
As the Interim Executive Director, you will have the opportunity to develop and challenge yourself in a dynamic role where no two days are the same. You will gain experience in leadership, negotiations, and deepen your expertise in finance and administration.
The Interim Executive Director position is full-time and fixed-term, lasting from April 1st to August 15th. The contract is open-ended, with a month-long probationary period. The position is based in Lahti or Lappeenranta, but weekly travel between the two cities is required. Remote work is also possible. The salary for this role, depending on experience, is €2,500 – €2,800. The work primarily follows regular office hours, but may occasionally require evening and weekend availability.
