JUNCTION 2021 IS COMING!

Junction 2021 is Europe’s leading hackathon, this year in a hybrid mode. Yes, you heard it right: You can participate live in Skinnarila Campus via LUTES!

Wait, what? Hackathon is an innovation competition, where participants solve challenges from big names like Marimekko, Elisa and CGI. During the weekend you’ll work around the clock with your team for the best possible solution  and cross your fingers that you’ll be the team walking out with the main prize of 10 000€. Apart from only the main prize, all participants will receive a certificate of participation in Junction, which has proven to be quite hot stuff. (credits? varmista!)

But is it only grinding? Not at all. The atmosphere in the Hub bubble is beyond words – everyone working towards the same goal, innovating and challenging themselves like never before. The Hub is filled with like-minded people giving you the possibility to network and meet your future best friends. Working in a team and developing your strengths and weaknesses. We’ll guarantee you won’t be leaving with empty hands!

The application for both Junction hackathon and LUT Hub is now open. You can apply both alone or with a team by 30th October. Get your seat via this link, and don’t forget to apply both the event and the Hub separately!

Work life co-operation handbook for students

In the Talent HUB South Karelia project, LUT & LAB Career Services and Business Mill, we put our information together and built a work life handbook for students. summer jobs and, of course, entrepreneurship as a career option. There are also story examples written by our students and alumni from all the different options. The purpose of the guide is to serve as a handbook and give ideas to the student to support their study and work life planning.
In addition to the guides, I would like to remind you that LUT & LAB Career Services has an active JobTeaser platform, where we compile up-to-date information on working life, training and internships and jobs, as well as, for example, sector-specific median salary and job title information (these can be found in the Info Bank section)!
