Apply to join the best spot for interdisciplinary active work! LTKY is now looking for new members for its sections and the application is open from 8.1.-18.1.2026.

In the sections, you get to work for our community with a low threshold, for example with events, Wappu and wellbeing. There are many different tasks, so there is definitely something for everyone! Section application is open to all LUT and LAB students, which means that LTKY membership is not necessary for participating in section activities. You will get a certification of work from the section.

We are now looking for members to four sections:

The task is to help the board’s culture representative in facilitating Suomen Pisin Wappu in Lappeenranta. The most significant work of the section is the communications and marketing of Wappu, which includes, for example, updating social media, SkinnarilaBot and website, making Wappu passes and other materials, and taking photos and videos. The Wappu team can also help the culture representative in the Wappu events which the culture representative organizes. The working time for the section is from the beginning of the year 2026 until mid-May.

The task is to organize LTKY’s events under the lead of the board’s event manager. The activities focus on organizing events, but the roles vary according to the skills and interests of the members of the section. A variety of skills are important in organizing events: whether you are handy with technology, enthusiastic about visual design, good at organizing things or even good at carrying a fence, it is worth applying to the event section! There are many events during the year: for example, interdisciplinary fresher sitz party, ice mayhem, Wappu task race, Wappu eve party, fresher Olympics, Mocktails & Chill and LTKY’s Christmas party are among the tasks of the events section. The working time for the section is the entire year 2026.

The task is to help the board’s social politics representative in organizing wellbeing events and developing ideas for wellbeing-related communications. The wellbeing section organizes, for example, Mental Health Monday LIVE! – events, produces content for monthly social media Mental Health Mondays, and organizes various sport trials throughout the year. Other wellbeing work is also possible depending on the interest of the section. The working time for the section is the entire year 2026.

The purpose of the Lahti section is to organize events under the leadership of the board’s Lahti culture representative. The biggest projects are Wappu and fresher weeks along with other small events and wellbeing events. LTKY’s activities in Lahti are growing constantly, and the section is formed to support this growth. The Lahti section is a great opportunity to get to influence the student culture in Lahti right from the heart of it! The working time for the section is the entire year 2026.
