Student Union of LUT University, LTKY, nominates Roosa Grönberg as a candidate for the National Union of University Students In Finland’s (SYL) board for the 2023 mandate. The union’s board will be elected at the General Assembly on the 18th and the 19th of November, 2022.
At its meeting on the 12th of September 2022, the representative council of the Student Union of LUT University has decided to nominate Roosa Grönberg as a SYL board member candidate for the 2023 mandate. Grönberg, 23, currently serves as the chair of the board of the Student Union of LUT University. Grönberg studies business analytics, her prior responsibilities include working as the higher education policy officer in her subject association, Enklaavi ry, as well as the higher education policy officer in the board of the Student Union of LUT University. In addition, she has been on the board of Finland’s conscripts’ union and Martha organization activities. Grönberg has experience and expertise in education policy and equality affairs.
“I am applying for SYL’s board, because through SYL you can positively impact matters concerning students. Themes that are important to me are continuous learning as part of the future of education and improving access to student housing. In SYL’s board, I want to be able to implement a visible and inspiring parliamentary election campaign. I will also make sure that matters concerning climate change remain an integral part of SYL’s operations. I look forward to working on the campaign and meeting on important issues concerning students this autumn”, comments Grönberg.
SYL will elect the 2023 board at the General Assembly in Korpilampi, Espoo, on the 18th and 19th of November 2022. SYL represents approximately 130,000 students in Finland, protecting their interests, conducting advocacy at the national level and advocating for higher quality student life. All student unions in Finland are members of SYL.
