The Finnish Student Sports Federation (OLL), founded in 1924, is a national advocacy and service organization working for the betterment of Finnish student sports. OLL represents all Finnish higher education students. The primary goal of OLL is to ensure that students engage in sufficient physical exercise for their health and well-being. Student unions and student associations are full members of OLL. Together the staff and yearly changing board engages in advocacy work, offers support services, trains and does research to promote student sports and well-being. The application for the chair of the board, vice-chairs of the board and the members of the board for the year 2023 is now open. New members will be selected in a federation assembly on the 1st to 3rd November 2022. In addition to selecting the chairs and members of the board, the federation assembly will accept the action plan and OLL’s policy paper. The federation assembly will also deal with other matters brought to the table.
OLL board and the chairs of the board
The board of OLL consists of the chair of the board, one (1) to two (2) vice-chairs and not more than two (2) members of the board. Working as the chair and vice-chair is a position of responsibility, which demands committed work, interest and passion for student advocacy and influence work. The role for the members of the board is smaller and it is possible to work and study at the same time as being a member of the board. It is recommended that applicants are familiar with the higher education sector, political influence work and the decision making process. The most important thing above all is passion to improve student sports and student well-being. The OLL office is located in Helsinki, but working remotely is possible. The position is compensated.
OLL federation assembly and LTKY’s federation delegation
Federation assembly is the highest decision making body of OLL, and every member will choose their delegation to make decisions about next year’s actions and finances and to choose the next board members.
LTKY’s delegation consists of two (2) members eligible to vote. In the past years the delegation has included members of the LTKY board, who have the latest information and view of OLL’s matters.
According to LTKY’s rules of procedures of voting and election, the representative council will name the members of the delegation and candidates for OLL board members based on the board’s proposal. LTKY’s board will name their delegation members at the representative council meeting on 13th October 2022. In addition, the unions can name their own representatives to the delegation, the proposals of people added to the delegation must be sent to LTKY’s executive director Arttu Kaukinen (arttu.kaukinen(at)ltky.fi) by 13th October 2022. Candidates for OLL board members and chairs of the board must notify the executive director Arttu by the same day.
