Anselmi Auramo Elected Chair of the National Union of University Students in Finland!

Anselmi Auramo, Chair of the Board of the Student Union of LUT University (LTKY), has been elected Chair of the National Union of University Students in Finland (SYL) for 2025. The election took place during SYL’s General Assembly in Otaniemi on Friday, November 15, 2024. There were four candidates for the position.

“It’s an unbelievable feeling. This wouldn’t have been possible without LTKY’s support and the encouragement from our community. That support has given me incredible strength to carry out this campaign. I am truly grateful to everyone who has been supportive. It’s an unbelievable feeling at this point”, Auramo comments after the election.

Auramo’s campaign was driven by a desire to move Finland toward a student-friendly society. According to Auramo, a student-friendly society cannot be created overnight, but with consistent effort, we can ensure progress in that direction. “This is the work I want to lead as Chair”, he continues.

Auramo is studying both business and social sciences at LUT University. Originally from Savonlinna, he served as Chair of LTKY’s Board in 2024 and as Cultural Affairs Officer in 2023.
