County elections Advance voting for the county elections has started! Advance voting for the 2022 regional elections started on Wednesday, January 12th. and ends on Tuesday January 18th. The actual voting day is Sunday January 23rd. Advance voting can be given at any of the city’s 11 advance polling stations, all of which are also physically accessible. Events Lappeenranta Christmas Market opens at the Market Square on Saturday December 4th Lappeenranta Christmas Market consists of familiar red cottages where you can shop for Christmas. This year, the cottages offer everything from traditional handcrafts and pastries to Highland meat products and cane horses. A separate event area will be built next to the Christmas Market, which will include a performance of the Kimpinen School’s music class choir on weekdays at noon. Events Finland’s longest Wappu Unfortunately, the coronavirus still affects the lives of students, and that’s why we have to organize our Wappu as remoteWappu. We’ve managed to maintain many traditional Wappu events for this year as well, but unfortunately we’ll have to postpone freshmen baptism until next fall. The new date of baptism is August 29th 2021, if the future situation allows it. However, there is no need to mourn too much remote Wappu, because again this year Finland’s longest Wappu will take over Lapland’s Rannat, Lahti and practically the whole of Finland’s remote Wappu. Via this form you can propose your suggestion for Teekkari or Kylteri of the year and also shortly argument why this person should be awarded. Events Excursion to Lahti LTKY decided to organize remote-excursion to Lahti. The excursion will be held at eCampus Discord at its own excursion channel. During the excursion LTKY group will start from Lappeenranta and head to Lahti, while streaming the whole excursion for everybody’s enjoyment.
