Lahti Sports and Culture Appro

Lahti Sports and Culture Appro, the most refreshing event of the year, is organized for the 4th time this year, 15.9.!

In this event, you get to test different sports and get to know new the culture of Lahti for one day. Have fun while exploring Lahti and find even a new hobby for yourself!

– Go round the sport and culture themed checkpoints marked in the map. The checkpoints are in the center area of Lahti and they are held by many cooperation parters of sports and culture.
– You’ll get a stamp from every checkpoint you visit.
– After collecting these stamps you’ll get a diploma.

This day is full of sports and culture experiments, contests, energy and trying new things in a good and adventurous spirit!

Play golf!

LTKY owns two shares for the courses of Viipurin Golf: Etelä-Saimaa Golf and Kahilanniemi. The shares are are meant for the use of members of the student union, and one course costs 10€. More information how to use the shares in here.

Lappeenranta and Lahti campuses are closed from students until 31.7. Academic libraries are closed, but they offer limited lending and return services until 18.6. More information how to lend or return books in here.

TEK is launching a service line for the use of its members

The corona crisis is causing many kinds of uncertainty. Many people are burdened by worries about continuing to work, their own livelihoods or the health of their loved ones. We want to be your support during this challenging time and offer help not only with our current services but also with the challenges of mental well-being and resilience.

We offer our members a mental well-being service, Heltin HuoliLinja, which is your support, especially in difficult situations and places of change in working life. The service is provided by the health company Heltti Oy. The service will be available to all TEK members from May 7 to August 31, 2020.

Summer Job Helpline

The Summer Job Helpline offers advice on matters related to summer employment. You can request information by calling 0800 179 279 from 09.00 to 15.00 on Monday to Friday. Calls to this number are toll-free, and questions may also be sent to WhatsUpp number 040 747 1571 and by using a webform.

You can find further advice and guidance in the Summer job checklist and the Frequently asked questions in the website. When problems arise you may also talk to more senior colleagues and workmates, your local shop steward or employee representative, or the trade union for the industry concerned.

The Summer Job Helpline is provided by the national labour confederations of Finland: SAK, Akava and STTK. The helpline will stay open until 28 August.
